There are a number of large companies that market products that claim to get rid of dark circles in a few weeks. As tempting as that may be, these products tend to just cool the area under the eye but cannot completely get rid of the dark circles. These methods can be quite soothing to the eye but there aren’t many that show definitive signs of working against dark circles. At the end of the day, pigmentation of the skin under the eye tends to be darker due to a variety of causes. I was really fed up about the Ford, but glad that I hadn’t had the cash to hand over. In the end I went to a licensed broker who told me that the company car spiel was quite common and people also tried to sell vehicle’s in their parent’s or spouse’s name. The problem is that any type of surgery is going to have some danger attached to it. I may have completely misunderstood the story, because if the surgeon did something very wrong during the surgery then this is a different matter. But people need to understand the risks of getting any type of cosmetic surgery- just because a doctor may say that it’s a routine operation doesn’t mean that there are no risks attached to it. In severe cases things can go wrong with any surgery.

A couple from Israel have apparently named their daughter “Like” because they enjoy using Facebook so much. They claim that they wanted to find a modern name that was different to everyone else is, and is their way of saying that they love their daughter.

The father says that people “Like” the fact that he’s called his daughter a crazy name because when he posted it on his Facebook wall 40 out of 100 friends pressed the Like button. It’s surprising that someone who enjoys Facebook so much that he names his daughter after it doesn’t have more online friends than this though!

I feel slightly sorry for the child. She’s going to have to grow up knowing that she has parents who would name her after a button on a social networking site – probably purely to get some attention from the worlds media. If that was the purpose of the name then it’s certainly worked though – most of the major news sites have run with the story which is quite surprising!

I also read that for most of the big events only about half the tickets on sale are going to the public. This seems very low. I know that the games are paid for by corporate sponsors, but a lot of the money from the games also came from the tax payer. When you’ve got a stadium full of tens of thousands of people and half of them are there because of corporate deals it definitely takes away from the spirit of the Olympics. I suppose it’s inevitable – someone has to pay for the games – but it still seems unfair.

Even though I’m not really interested in many of the events I’ve applied to go and see quite a few. I think that this is probably the only time in our lifetime that we’ll have the Olympics so close, so it makes sense to make the most of it. Who knows whether we’ll ever have a major sporting event in the country again after the disaster of the World Cup application!

The most popular event is the 100m final, so if you’re just applying for that be aware that you probably won’t get the tickets!
